Rome's most heroic titan Antony falls head over heels in love with the amorous Cleopatra of Egypt. Octavian, who ascends the throne as the new Roman Emperor, has an ulterior motive, adding twists and turns to this lingering beautiful love story! Theater playwright maestro CHI Wei-jan rewrites Shakespeare's masterpiece Antony and Cleopatra—the storyteller is cut short in the middle of the play, leaving the director assistant, prompter, and the choir confused and baffled, and even the front stage scenes are swapped to the back! A reinvention of Shakespeare, fully original that will change your view about Chinese opera forever! This is a tribute to Shakespeare, but also a subversion and deconstruction of Shakespearian play. After seeing her playing the roles of Cao Qi-qiao, Orlando, and Meng Xiao-dong, get ready to enjoy the talented WEI Hai-ming interpreting the peerless beauty, Cleopatra. Award-winning director LEE Hsiao-pin will surprise you with this most daring experimental avant-garde tour de force in Guo Guang’s seventeen years of history!
