Flamenco Diva, Acknowledged by participating in some editions of Wuppertal Festival, Makes Her First Visit to Taiwan

An exploration of love in solitude with speed, power and dramatic footwork

Lluvia (Rain) is a classic piece of Spanish flamenco diva Eva Yerbabuena and also one of the most impact shows of her career. She delivers her highly acclaimed speed, power and dramatic footwork in this work. Yerbabuena says that Lluvia is “born on a gray day of pure melancholy” through which she explores love in pure solitude and pays tribute to being alive and the endlessness of life. Through poetry and music, the choreographer lets her imagination run wild on the stage. The dancers’ feet produce despairing monologues, making one lament in the charm of flamenco. A Spanish newspaper says that with Lluvia, “Yerbabuena has reached the pinnacle of her art. It reveals a deep understanding of flamenco’s aesthetic.” This dance presents the flamenco superstar at her most elegant, emotive best. Accompanied by four dancers and her well-received ensemble of musicians, she delivers an unforgettable tour de force performance which has left Spanish audiences in raptures.
