Vincent Peirani, an accordion musician from an academic classical training background, while rebelliously crossing over into different genres of music that often can be beard in the Paris Metro, is capable to create flaring notes with graceful and mysterious aura under his fingers.
François Salque, a world-renowned cellist and winner of various international competitions, has the ability to turn the sturdy cello into an adroit ballerina with lithe steps and blazing passion. Each of his beats is breath taking; each of his notes tells a story.
The two talented musicians from Paris break the border of genres and showcase their flawless skills that they have gained from the rigorous academic trainings. They pick from various genres to perform as a challenge, including the works from the godfather of tango, Piazzolla, jazz music, and folk music from the Central and Eastern Europe, to the works of contemporary young composers. Their incredible playing makes the accordion and cello dance together in this performance as the new voices that they bring can be evoked and broken the boundary. This skillful duet is no doubt the most precious treasure from the Seine.
